These range from large lecture theatres seating 100+ to smaller meeting rooms with video links and specialist equipment. Rooms in the Education Centre can be booked from their intranet site: http://intranet_1/edcen/
The Hollier Simulation Centre project is an exciting new development at Good Hope Hospital which provides access to state of the art simulation models and technical support.
Clinical Skills Rooms
Clinical skills rooms are equipped with the latest medical equipment for demonstration purposes.
There are open access computer facilities based within the libraries and also Internet cafes on each site. You can access your IT account from any PC in the Trust
There are libraries situated on each site within the Education Centres, which include areas for group and quiet study, IT facilities and easy seating.
HGS Library and Information Services provide high quality, current information to enable the delivery of excellent patient care; and to support the education and development of all Trust staff.
The Library Services provide facilities and services to aid clinical and management decision-making and the personal and professional development of all staff and students on placement.
Library facilities include:
24-hour access to quiet study, easy seating and general study areas with your Trust ID badge IT Suites with open access PCs available with your Trust username and password Chargeable printing, copying, scanning and faxing facilities which can be set up once you are a registered library user.
The library website at http://www.heftlibrary.nhs.uk provides access to Base-library; a web-based library catalogue at www.base-library.nhs.uk and electronic access to books, journals and databases via www.library.nhs.uk Access to electronic resources is enabled with an Athens password which can be obtained at www.athens.nhs.uk
Library Services include:
Loans of books, videos, CDs, & DVDs to all registered staff and students on placement.
Reservations and renewals of borrowed materials.
Inter-library loans and article requests for materials not held in stock.
A literature search service is provided by qualified librarians to search the health databases.
Current awareness services to keep you up-to-date with new developments in your field.
Information retrieval skills training is provided to equip staff and students with the knowledge and skills to search health databases.
An Outreach Librarian service is provided to all specialties and departments to facilitate evidence-based health care.
