Here at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust we want to have a talented and diverse workforce which reflects the community we serve. This website covers the three sites Heartlands, Good Hope and Solihull.  We also facilitate placements within Solihull community.

We encourage and support applications from the widest range of backgrounds to ensure we have the right people in the right jobs. We believe work experience is the single best activity that you can do to help you prepare for a career within healthcare. It will give you valuable experience within a vibrant healthcare environment and will assist you when applying for university and future jobs.

Work experience is a fantastic way to gain an insight into the wider range of career opportunities. It will help build your confidence and give you an understanding of the required attitudes, behaviours and values that are expected in a healthcare setting. This experience will help you to make an informed choice on your future career options.

In 2016/17 we offered 676 work experience placements over the three main sites across a range of different departments. Currently we attract in excess of over 1000 applications per year.

We already has strong links with its local schools and we run a number of programmes throughout the academic school year tailored to years 10 & 11 and we are eager to broaden our links across the local community.
